Description
The school of languages and conference centre "Oud Clingendael" in Wassenaar, a town near the city of The Hague in The Netherlands, has a secundairy objective to promote a vision to her guests (policy-makers and decision-makers) about the environment by means of the development of an ecologically managed woodland and park (of about 3 hectare large). This concerns a woodland-park situated in the Dutch inner-dune district (shallow places in the dunes with fresh water) and the woods consist of a very old oak- and beech-tree-wood with open spaces.
Around the house there are entrance- and outdoor-spaces with terraces.
Around the main terraces a monumental mounted wall has been created, with the purpose to fence off and to serve as a sound-wall. This is also a ecosystem for domestic flora and fauna
